# Reddit alerts for the keywords you choose

## Can you set up Reddit alerts?

Not for keywords, from Reddit itself. Reddit's own notifications are about your account and the
communities you have joined: replies to your posts, activity in a subreddit you follow. There is no
setting that says *tell me whenever anyone anywhere on Reddit writes this word*.

## The problem with keyword alerts

A keyword alert is cheap to send and expensive to read. Any term that comes up often produces a
stream of notifications, most of them somebody using the phrase in passing, a resale listing or a
job post. You still have to open each one to find out which is which.

The two usual fixes both cost you something. Narrow the keyword until it stops firing and you lose
the threads you wanted. Cap how many alerts a keyword may send in a day and the one that mattered
might have been the eleventh.

## What a scored alert contains

Every match is scored from 0 to 100 for relevance in context, and the alert carries the reasons
behind the number. Someone weighing up two products in your category and someone selling one
second-hand both mention the same brand. The score tells them apart, and shows its reasoning.

You set the bar. What clears it is sent. What does not stays in the app and is counted, so nothing
disappears without you being able to see it.

When a score is wrong, one click corrects it. The correction is written into your scoring rules and
applied to every later match, so the alerts get closer to what you want as you use them.

## Where a Reddit alert can go

## How quickly an alert arrives

Every tracked subreddit is checked around the clock, multiple times every hour, on every plan.

## No cap on what reaches you

There is no per-keyword daily limit and no monthly quota on matches. When a term has a busy week you
