# Reddit keyword tracking: every match kept, scored and searchable in the inbox

Canonical: https://redwatcher.com/reddit-keyword-tracking

**In short**

**Reddit keyword tracking is keeping every post and comment that matches a keyword you chose in
the subreddits you name. Redwatcher keeps each match in the inbox with the keyword highlighted, a
score from 0 to 100 and the reasons, whether it was sent to you or not, searchable by term and
by date. From $29 a month.**

Redwatcher's figures are from redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026. The screenshots are
Redwatcher's own screens with an example project, captured 30 and 31 August 2026.

[Redwatcher](/) is a Reddit monitoring tool. Tracks keywords, brand mentions and competitors across
the subreddits you choose, scores every match for relevance, and alerts by email, Slack, Telegram or
webhook around the clock. From $29/month per project.

**How we checked**

**The prices and allowances on this page are Redwatcher's own,** read from
[redwatcher.com/pricing](/pricing) on 21 September 2026. Redwatcher wrote this page about its
own product. The screenshots are Redwatcher's own screens with the example project shown on
redwatcher.com, captured on 31 August 2026 for the inbox and on 30 August 2026 for the rest. The
counts, the scores and the reasons in them belong to that example and are not a measurement of
anything. We read no other tool for this page and priced none, and we did not capture the
screens again on 21 September 2026.

## What does a Reddit keyword tracker keep?

A Reddit keyword tracker on Redwatcher keeps every post and comment that matches a keyword,
your brand or a competitor in the subreddits you name, and it keeps them whether they were sent
to you or not. A match on your brand's name or a competitor's is a mention, and
[Reddit mentions](/reddit-mentions) covers those on their own. Each match sits in the inbox as a card: the title with the matched word
highlighted, the subreddit, how long ago it was posted, a chip naming the term that matched, a
line saying where the match was found, the score from 0 to 100, and the reason written under it.
In the screenshot below the first card matched the phrase *email marketing tool* in a post's
title, scored 94, and the reason says it is a buying decision in progress, with the requirements
and the budget stated.

![The Redwatcher inbox for a Klaviyo project: a thread scored 94, a competitor comparison scored 88, and a job post scored 24 and skipped, each with the reasons underneath](img/product-inbox.webp "**The Redwatcher inbox**, captured 31 August 2026. Every thread shows its score, the word that matched is highlighted in the title, a chip names the term, and the reason is underneath. The tabs read Relevant, Skipped and All, each with its count.")

## What do Relevant, Skipped and All mean?

Relevant holds the matches above the bar you set, which are the ones sent to your channels,
Skipped holds the matches under the bar, which are kept and counted but not sent, and All holds
both. The three are the tabs at the top of the inbox, and each one carries its count. In
the screenshot above the tabs read Relevant 3, Skipped 41 and All 44, so 41 of
the 44 matches in that view were not sent, and they are still in the inbox to read. If
a match was skipped for the wrong reason, you open it, mark it as wrongly scored and say what was
wrong, and it becomes a rule that every later match is judged against.

## How do you find one keyword's matches in the inbox?

To find one keyword's matches, type it into the search box above the list, which is labelled
*Search your terms*, or open the filter. The filter has two groups. *When* narrows the list to
the last 7 days, the last 30 days or all time. *Show* narrows it to everything, your brand, your
competitors or your keywords, and a third choice shows only new matches, only read ones, or
all. The order is newest first or highest score first, and a control on the right sets the bar the tabs
split on, which in the screenshot reads *Score ≥ 70*: Relevant holds the matches at 70 or above,
Skipped holds the ones under it, and All shows both, with the ones under the bar dimmed. Each card has a *Mark as read* button, which
turns into *Mark as unread* once it is pressed, and the *Before you started* block has a Dismiss button.

## What does the Stats screen count for your keywords?

The Stats screen counts what was read across your subreddits, how many of those posts and
comments matched your terms, and how many of the matches came in above your bar, for the last 6
hours, 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. Above the counts a line says whether every subreddit due
to be checked in the period was checked, and under them you see what share of the comments and posts
were checked, and a bar for every check, hour by hour. The Stats screen is on every plan.

![Redwatcher's Stats screen: a Healthy line saying every subreddit due to be checked was checked, the share of comments and posts checked, and a bar for every check hour by hour](img/product-stats.webp "**The Stats screen.** Captured 30 August 2026, for the example project. What was read, what matched your terms, what scored above your bar, and every check hour by hour.")

## Does the tracking cover what was said before you started?

Redwatcher's tracking starts when you press Start, and the first session shows what was already
there: up to three threads from the seven days before, in their own block labelled *Before you
started*. Those three are shown so you can see what the subreddits held, and they are not
counted as matches and are not sent anywhere. From that point on every match is kept, and the
*All time* window in the filter reaches back to the day you started.

## What happens when a tracked match is scored wrong?

When a tracked match is scored wrong, you open it, say what was wrong, and it becomes a rule
that every later match is judged against. In the example, the thread that scored 94 is
corrected to 38. The buyer wrote that they wanted something under $30 a month, and the
correction saved in the screenshot below, captured 30 August 2026, records that the example
project's own plans start at $100 a month. The corrected thread moves to the tab its new score
puts it in.

![The thread scored 94, corrected to 38 because the buyer's budget is under the vendor's starting price, and the correction saved as a scoring rule](img/product-scoring.webp "**The same thread, corrected from 94 to 38.** Captured 30 August 2026. Redwatcher writes the correction into your scoring rules and re-scores the thread.")

## What does tracking keywords cost with Redwatcher?

Redwatcher costs $29 a month per project for 25 keywords and 25 subreddits, $49 for 50 of each,
and $89 for 100 of each. If you need more than 100 keywords or more than 100 subreddits, ask for
a custom plan. Every feature is on every plan: the inbox with its tabs, search and filter, the
Stats screen, scoring with the reasons, email, Slack, Telegram and webhook alerts, and unlimited
team members. There is no charge per match, and a match that is skipped costs nothing either.
The trial is seven days with no card. Read from [redwatcher.com/pricing](/pricing) on

## What other questions come up about tracking keywords on Reddit?

### What is the difference between tracking a keyword and being alerted about it?
Tracking a keyword on Redwatcher means every post and comment that matches it is kept in the
inbox with its score and reasons, and being alerted means the ones above your bar are also sent
to email, Slack, Telegram or a signed webhook. You set both up once. It is the same keyword in the
same subreddits. Plans start
at $29 a month per project. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### How far back does Reddit keyword tracking go?
Reddit keyword tracking on Redwatcher goes back to the day you started the project. On the first
session it also shows up to three threads from the seven days before, in a block labelled Before
you started, and those are not counted as matches and are not sent. From the start, every match
is kept, and the filter's All time window shows all of them. Plans start at $29 a month per
project. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### Can you see which keyword a match came from?
Every match in the Redwatcher inbox shows which keyword it came from: the matched word is
highlighted in the title, a chip under the title names the term, and a line says whether the
match is in the post's title or in a comment. The filter's Show group narrows the
list to your brand, your competitors or your keywords, and the search box finds one term. Read
from redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### Can you search the inbox by keyword?
The Redwatcher inbox has a search box labelled Search your terms, and typing a keyword into it
shows the matches for that term. Beside it the filter narrows the list by date, to the last 7
days, the last 30 days or all time, and by subject, to everything, your brand, your competitors
or your keywords, and the order is newest first or highest score first. Read from
redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### Are comments tracked as well as posts?
Comments are tracked as well as posts on Redwatcher, in every subreddit you name, on every plan.
A match in a comment is kept the same way as a match in a post: the comment with the matched
word highlighted, the score and the reasons, and the link to the thread. A line on the card says
where the match was found. Plans start at $29 a month per project for 25 keywords and 25
subreddits. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### What happens to matches under your bar?
Matches under your bar on Redwatcher go to the Skipped tab, where they are kept and counted and
can be read at any time, and they are not sent to your channels. If a match was skipped for
the wrong reason, you open it, mark it as wrongly scored and say what was wrong, and it becomes
a rule that every later match is judged against. There is no charge per match, whether it was skipped or sent.
Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### How many keywords can you track on Reddit?
On Redwatcher you can track 25 keywords on the $29 plan, 50 on the $49 plan and 100 on the $89
plan, each with the same number of subreddits. If you need more than 100 keywords or more than
100 subreddits, ask for a custom plan. A competitor you track counts as one keyword, and the
count is on the screen while you add them. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on
21 September 2026.

### Can you track a competitor's name as a keyword?
A competitor's name is tracked on Redwatcher as one keyword, with the spellings people use listed
under it, and its matches show in the inbox with the competitor's name on a chip. The filter's Show
group narrows the list to competitors only, so a thread where somebody is choosing between your
product and a competitor's is found in one step. Plans start at $29 a month per project for 25
keywords. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### How often is a tracked keyword checked?
A tracked keyword on Redwatcher is checked in every subreddit you name around the clock,
multiple times every hour, on every plan. The inbox says when the last check ran, and the Stats
screen shows every check, hour by hour, with a line saying whether every subreddit due to be
checked in the period was checked. Plans start at $29 a month per project. Read from
redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### Is there a free Reddit keyword tracker?
Redwatcher has no free plan. The trial is seven days with no card, and after it the plans are $29
a month per project for 25 keywords and 25 subreddits, $49 for 50 of each, and $89 for 100 of
each. Every feature is in the trial and on every plan, including the inbox with its search and
filter, the Stats screen, and email, Slack, Telegram and webhook alerts. Read from
redwatcher.com/pricing on 21 September 2026.

### How much does tracking keywords on Reddit cost?
