# Reddit monitoring that finds the threads and never posts

Canonical: https://redwatcher.com/reddit-monitoring-without-posting

**In short**

**Redwatcher is a Reddit monitoring tool that never posts for you. It reads the subreddits you choose around the clock, multiple times every hour, scores every match from 0 to 100 with the reasons, and sends you the threads that reach the score you set. You write every reply yourself, from your own account. From $29 a month.**

[Redwatcher](/) is a Reddit monitoring tool. Tracks keywords, brand mentions and competitors across
the subreddits you choose, scores every match for relevance, and alerts by email, Slack, Telegram or
webhook around the clock. From $29/month per project. A project is one brand or one client, with its
own keywords, its own subreddits and its own alerts. A subreddit is one of Reddit's communities,
each built around one topic. A keyword is a word or phrase you want found, a match is a Reddit post
or comment that contains one, and a webhook is a message Redwatcher sends to a web address you give
it. A relevance score is a number from 0 to 100 that Redwatcher gives each match, with the reasons,
and you set the lowest score a thread needs before it is sent to you. A thread is a Reddit post
together with the comments under it, and a check is one pass in which Redwatcher reads your
subreddits for new posts and comments.

## What is the best Reddit monitoring tool that does not post for you?

Redwatcher is a Reddit monitoring tool that does not post for you: it finds the threads and scores
them, and you decide which ones to answer and write the answer. It has no posting feature, it writes
no reply drafts, and it never asks for your Reddit login.

Redwatcher is the right tool for a brand or an agency that wants every answer on Reddit written by a
person, under that person's own account, and wants to hear about the threads worth answering without reading every new post and comment in those subreddits themselves.

## What do Reddit's rules say about participating authentically?

Reddit's rules ask everyone to participate authentically in communities where they have a personal
interest, not to spam or engage in content manipulation, and not to mislead others. Rule 2 and Rule 5
of the eight rules that apply on every community say so:

- Rule 2: *"Abide by community rules. Participate authentically in communities where you have a
personal interest, and do not spam or engage in disruptive behaviors (including content
manipulation) that interfere with Reddit communities."*
- Rule 5: *"Be authentic. You don't have to use your real name, but do not intentionally mislead
others or impersonate an individual or entity in a deceptive manner."*

## How does Reddit monitoring without posting work?

1. **You choose what to watch.** Give Redwatcher your website and it proposes the subreddits, the
keywords, your competitors and the spellings people use. You keep what fits.
2. **It reads both the posts and the comments in those subreddits around the clock, multiple times
   every hour**, on every plan.
3. **It scores every match from 0 to 100, with the reasons.** Under one thread the reason reads
*"A buying decision in progress, with the requirements and the budget stated"*, and that thread
   scores 94.
4. **It sends the threads that reach the score you set** to email, Slack, Telegram or a webhook
signed with a shared secret. Slack, Telegram and the webhook get one message per thread. Email
gets one message per check, carrying the threads from that check.
5. **You open the thread on Reddit and decide whether to answer.** If you do, you write the answer
and post it from your own account.
6. **When a score is wrong, you say what was wrong and it becomes a rule**, and every later match is
   judged against it.

![The Redwatcher inbox for a Klaviyo project: a thread scored 94, a competitor comparison scored 88, and a job post scored 24 and skipped, each with the reasons underneath](img/product-inbox.webp "**The Redwatcher inbox**, captured 31 August 2026. Every thread shows its score, the word that matched is highlighted in the title, and the reasons are underneath. Anything below the score you chose is not sent, and you can still read it.")

![A Redwatcher alert for a thread scored 94, as a Slack message and in an email carrying the threads from that check, each with the reasons and a View on Reddit button](img/product-alerts.webp "**Every alert ends in a View on Reddit button.** Captured 30 August 2026.")

![A thread scored 94 being corrected to 38, and the correction saved as a scoring rule](img/product-scoring.webp "**You say what was wrong, and it becomes a rule.** Captured 30 August 2026. Redwatcher writes the correction into your scoring rules and re-scores the thread.")

## What does Redwatcher do on Reddit, and what does it never do?

| Redwatcher does | Redwatcher never does |
| --- | --- |
| Reads the posts and comments in the subreddits you choose | Posts, comments or replies |
| Scores every match from 0 to 100, with the reasons | Writes reply drafts |
| Sends the threads that reach the score you set, with a link to each | Votes on posts or comments |
| Proposes subreddits, keywords and competitors from your website | Sends direct messages |
| Turns a correction you type into a scoring rule | Asks for your Reddit login or supplies Reddit accounts |

It watches Reddit only. [Reddit alerts](/reddit-alerts) shows what a scored alert contains.

## What does Redwatcher cost, and is there a free plan?

| Plan | Price per project | Keywords | Subreddits |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Small | $29 a month | 25 | 25 |
| Medium | $49 a month | 50 | 50 |
| Large | $89 a month | 100 | 100 |

Redwatcher has no free plan, and the seven-day trial needs no card. Scoring and all four alert
channels are on every plan, and adding a person to the account costs nothing. An agency gives each
client a project of its own, and [Reddit monitoring for agencies](/reddit-monitoring-for-agencies)
covers how. Read from [redwatcher.com/pricing](/pricing) on 30 September 2026.
