# Reddit social listening: what a listening tool does on Reddit, and what it costs you on Reddit when one allowance covers every source

Canonical: https://redwatcher.com/reddit-social-listening

**In short**

**Reddit social listening is watching named subreddits for what people say about your brand, your
competitors and your keywords, in posts and comments. Redwatcher does it for Reddit alone: you
name the subreddits, every mention is scored with the reasons, and the whole allowance is spent
on Reddit. From $29 a month for 25 keywords and 25 subreddits.**

Redwatcher's figures are from redwatcher.com/pricing. Brand24, a media monitoring tool that
watches Facebook, Instagram, X, news, blogs and Reddit from one allowance, is quoted from
brand24.com/prices. Both were read on 20 September 2026.

[Redwatcher](/) is a Reddit monitoring tool. Tracks keywords, brand mentions and competitors across
the subreddits you choose, scores every match for relevance, and alerts by email, Slack, Telegram or
webhook around the clock. From $29/month per project.

**How we checked**

**The prices and allowances on this page are Redwatcher's own,** read from
[redwatcher.com/pricing](/pricing) on 20 September 2026. Redwatcher wrote this page. Brand24's are read from
[brand24.com/prices](https://brand24.com/prices/) in Chrome on the same day with its billing
switch on monthly, for the one section that says how much of Brand24's allowance goes to Reddit.
We have not used a paid Brand24 plan. The prices are list prices at monthly billing, not yearly
rates and not what either tool has charged anyone, and the screenshots are Redwatcher's own screens with the
example project shown on redwatcher.com, captured on 31 August 2026 for the inbox and on 30 August
2026 for the rest. The scores in them belong to that example and are not a measurement of how
often the scoring is right, and we did not capture the screens again on 20 September 2026.

## What is Reddit social listening?

Reddit social listening is watching the subreddits where your buyers talk, for the mentions of
your brand, your competitors and your keywords, in the comments as much as the posts. Social
listening in general covers many networks. Reddit social listening is the same job narrowed to
one platform, where a mention is a post or a comment in a community you can name.
Redwatcher reads both in every subreddit you name.

## How much of Brand24's allowance goes to Reddit?

Brand24 sets no part of its allowance aside for Reddit. Brand24 is a media monitoring tool that watches Facebook,
Instagram, X, news, blogs and Reddit from one allowance of keywords and mentions, and it counts
every mention from every source against one monthly number. On its $249 plan that
number is 2,000 mentions a month, for three keywords, updated every 12 hours, and a mention on
Reddit uses one of them the same as a mention from X, Instagram or the news. Its 25-keyword plan
is $699. Read from [brand24.com/prices](https://brand24.com/prices/) on 20 September 2026. On
Redwatcher the whole allowance goes to Reddit: 25 keywords in 25 named subreddits for $29 a month,
checked around the clock, read from [redwatcher.com/pricing](/pricing) on the same day. [The Brand24
review](/brand24-review)
goes through all five of its plans, read cell by cell on the same day.

## What does a listening tool watch on Reddit?

The subreddits you name, for the keywords you choose, in posts and comments. Give Redwatcher your
website address and it proposes the subreddits, the keywords, your competitors and the spellings
people use for all three, and checks each subreddit against Reddit as you accept it. A competitor
counts as one keyword. Redwatcher listens to 25, 50 or 100 subreddits, depending on the plan, and
to the same number of keywords. Read from [redwatcher.com/pricing](/pricing) on
20 September 2026.

![The Competitors step of Redwatcher's setup: six competitors tracked with their spellings, and two more suggested to add](img/product-setup.webp "**The Competitors step of setup.** Captured 30 August 2026. Six competitors tracked with the spellings people use, and two more suggested from your website. Each competitor counts as one keyword.")

## How is every mention judged?

Every post and comment that matches is scored from 0 to 100 for relevance, and the reasons are
written under the thread. Under one thread the reason reads *"A buying decision in progress, with
the requirements and the budget stated"*, and that thread scores 94. A thread where someone is
choosing a replacement for a named competitor scores 88. A job post that names the brand scores 24, because
there is nothing in a job post to answer. You set the lowest score you want an alert for.
Everything under it stays in the inbox where you can read it, and is not sent.

![The Redwatcher inbox for a Klaviyo project: a thread scored 94, a competitor comparison scored 88, and a job post scored 24 and skipped, each with the reasons underneath](img/product-inbox.webp "**The Redwatcher inbox**, captured 31 August 2026. Every thread shows its score, the word that matched is highlighted in the title, and the reasons are underneath. Anything under your bar is not sent, and you can still read it.")

When a score is wrong for your product, you say what was wrong, and it becomes a rule that every
later match is judged against. In the example, the thread scored 94 above is corrected to 38. The buyer wrote that they wanted
something under $30 a month, and the correction saved in the screenshot below, captured 30 August
2026, records that the example project's own plans start at $100 a month.

![The thread scored 94, corrected to 38 because the buyer's budget is under the vendor's starting price, and the correction saved as a scoring rule](img/product-scoring.webp "**The same thread, corrected from 94 to 38.** Captured 30 August 2026. Redwatcher writes the correction into your scoring rules and re-scores the thread.")

## Where does a Reddit monitoring alert go?

To email, Slack, Telegram or a signed webhook, on every plan. Redwatcher checks every subreddit
you track around the clock, multiple times every hour, and sends a match as soon as it clears
your bar, with the score, the reasons and the link to the thread. Every channel has a test button
that sends a real message. Read from [redwatcher.com/pricing](/pricing) on 20 September 2026.

![A Redwatcher alert for a thread scored 94, as a real-time Slack message and in a batched email digest, each with the reasons and a View on Reddit button](img/product-alerts.webp "**The same alert in Slack and in an email digest.** Captured 30 August 2026. You choose real time or batched, and every alert carries the score, the reasons and the link to the thread. Telegram and a signed webhook are on every plan too.")

## What does listening to Reddit cost with Redwatcher?

Redwatcher costs $29 a month per project for 25 keywords and 25 subreddits, $49 for 50 of each,
and $89 for 100 of each, with every feature on every plan. Scoring with the reasons, corrections
that become rules, email, Slack, Telegram and webhook alerts, and unlimited team members are all
on the $29 plan, and there is no charge per mention. Each brand or client is its own project. The
trial is seven days with no card. If Reddit is the platform you care about, Redwatcher spends its
whole allowance there. If your brief spans several networks, it handles the Reddit part, and it does
not cover X, Instagram, review sites or the press. Read from

## What other questions come up about listening to Reddit?

### What counts as Reddit social listening?
Reddit social listening is watching named subreddits for the mentions of your brand, your
competitors and your keywords, in posts and in comments, and judging which ones need an answer.
Redwatcher does it for Reddit alone: you name the subreddits and the keywords, every matching post
and comment is scored from 0 to 100 with the reasons, and the ones above your bar go to email,
Slack, Telegram or a signed webhook, from $29 a month. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on
20 September 2026.

### What is a Reddit social listening tool?
A Reddit social listening tool reads the subreddits you choose for the words you choose and tells
you which mentions matter. Redwatcher is one: it proposes the subreddits and keywords from your
website, checks each subreddit against Reddit, scores every mention from 0 to 100 with the
reasons, and alerts your team on every plan. It costs $29 a month per project for 25 keywords and
25 subreddits, and it does not write or post replies. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on
20 September 2026.

### Is Redwatcher a social listening tool?
Redwatcher is a social listening tool for Reddit. It reads your website and proposes the
subreddits, the keywords, your competitors and the spellings people use, reads posts and comments
in every subreddit you accept, scores each mention from 0 to 100 with the reasons written under
the thread, turns your corrections into rules that every later match is judged against, and
sends what clears your bar to email, Slack, Telegram or a signed webhook. It does not write or
post replies. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 20 September 2026.

### What is the difference between Reddit social listening and Reddit monitoring?
Reddit social listening and Reddit monitoring are two names for the same job on Reddit: watching
named subreddits for mentions of your brand, your competitors and your keywords, and telling the
useful ones from the rest. Redwatcher does it for Reddit, with every mention scored from 0 to 100 with the reasons,
from $29 a month. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 20 September 2026.

### How much does Reddit social listening cost?
Redwatcher costs $29 a month per project for 25 keywords and 25 subreddits, $49 for 50 keywords
and 50 subreddits, and $89 for 100 of each, with every feature on every plan and no charge per
mention. For comparison, Brand24's $249 plan has three keywords and 2,000 mentions a month across
every source it watches, and its 25-keyword plan is $699, read from brand24.com/prices on
20 September 2026. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on the same day.

### Does Reddit social listening include comments?
Yes, on Redwatcher every subreddit you name is read for comments as well as posts, and a comment
is scored the same way as a post, from 0 to 100 with the reasons. Redwatcher listens to 25
subreddits for 25 keywords at $29 a month, and a comment that clears your bar is sent the same as
a post.
Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 20 September 2026.

### Which subreddits should you listen to?
The subreddits to listen to are the ones where your buyers talk about your category: the
communities for their trade, for your kind of product, for the problem you solve, and the ones
where your competitors get named.
Redwatcher reads your website and proposes them, with the keywords, your competitors and the
spellings people use, and checks each one against Reddit as you accept it. Depending on the plan,
Redwatcher listens to 25, 50 or 100 of them. Read from
redwatcher.com/pricing on 20 September 2026.

### Does Redwatcher listen to X, Instagram or the news?
No. Redwatcher listens to Reddit only, in the subreddits you name, and does not cover X,
Instagram, review sites, the news or the press. If your brief spans several networks, it handles
the Reddit part of it. None of the allowance goes to another network: 25 keywords in 25 named
subreddits at $29 a month, every mention scored from 0 to 100 with the reasons, and no charge per
mention. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on 20 September 2026.

### Does Redwatcher post replies?
No. Redwatcher does not write replies and does not post them, and that is deliberate, because
posting under your name carries account consequences that have been publicly reported. It finds
the thread, scores it from 0 to 100, explains the score and links to it, and you write what goes
into the thread yourself, from your own account.

### Does Redwatcher have a free plan?
Redwatcher has no plan at $0. The trial is seven days with no card, and after it the plans are $29
a month per project for 25 keywords and 25 subreddits, $49 for 50 keywords and 50 subreddits,
and $89 for 100 of each. Every feature is on every plan, including scoring, email, Slack, Telegram
and webhook alerts, and unlimited team members. Read from redwatcher.com/pricing on
20 September 2026.
