The best GummySearch alternative for Reddit monitoring in 2026

Updated 30 August 2026 · figures checked against each vendor's own pricing page

In short

GummySearch closed to new signups on 30 November 2025 and shuts down entirely on 1 December 2026, when all remaining user data is deleted. Those dates are its founder's, published on gummysearch.com. Anyone still logging in has until then.

GummySearch did two jobs. It browsed and analysed subreddits so you could research an audience, and it tracked keywords so you heard about new mentions. Redwatcher replaces the second job, from $29 a month: it watches the subreddits you name for your keywords, competitors and brand, scores every match from 0 to 100, and sends what clears your bar to email, Slack, Telegram or a webhook. It does not browse or profile communities.

GummySearch ran for four years as a Reddit audience-research tool. Its founder announced the closure on 6 November 2025 and stopped taking money on the 30th of that month. Paid subscriptions have kept working through a transition year, and that year ends on 1 December 2026.

Redwatcher is a Reddit monitoring tool that scores every keyword match for relevance before it alerts you.

How we checked

Read off their own pages. Every date, price and quote below comes from gummysearch.com/pricing, the closure notice and the 6 November 2025 announcement.

Checked 30 August 2026. The pages were still live that day, and the pricing page still carries the banner.

We never ran GummySearch on a paid plan. What it did comes from what it published about itself. Where we describe our own product we are the source, and we have said so.

The founder gave the reason on the announcement page: GummySearch had been working with Reddit toward a commercial licence for its Data API, and

"we were not able to reach an agreement that aligns with Reddit's Data API Usage policies. As a result, GummySearch must become a non-commercial product by the end of November or shut down."

GummySearch did two jobs, and we replace one of them

GummySearch sold audience research first and alerting second. A tool that only does alerting replaces part of it, and the part it does not replace is the part people used most.

If what you used GummySearch for was the research half, the honest answer is that a monitoring tool will not give it back to you. If what you used it for was keyword tracking — the thing on its $29 Starter plan — that is the job Redwatcher does, at the same price, with every match judged before it is sent.

One match, two tools

hiring a Klaviyo freelancer for a 3-month contract

"Remote, part-time, mostly flow builds and deliverability cleanup. DM with rates."

— r/marketing, a post matching the keyword Klaviyo

A keyword tracker lists it. It matched, so it appears in the feed with everything else the word caught, and deciding which of them is worth ten minutes is the part you do yourself, every day.

Redwatcher scores it 24 and holds it back. The brand is named, but a job post holds nothing to answer. It never becomes an alert. It is counted under Skipped, where you can open it and check the call, and what reaches you is the handful of threads where somebody is actually choosing.

Where GummySearch stops

What is actually gone on 1 December 2026

Redwatcher does not do audience research, and that is the half of GummySearch nothing here replaces. It asks for your website during setup and suggests subreddits from it, which covers the first ten minutes of that job and not the rest.

What its founder recommended instead

The GummySearch alternatives page lists BuzzAbout, PainOnSocial, Clearbox, RedReach, SubredditSignals, ReplyAgent and Outpost, with the note that "some of these might be affiliate links". Two of them draft Reddit replies for you, and the seventh is a full-service agency that posts as your brand, described on that page as starting at $5,000 a month. Those are different products with different risks.

Every tool on our own list is scored out of 100 against five criteria published beside it, at its entry paid tier, with the reason for every sub-score and the date that vendor's page was read.

What the product actually does with a match

Five things happen to every thread before you see it, and they are what the score is for rather than a number on its own.

It tells you why, in a sentence. Not high, medium or low — the actual reason. "A buying decision in progress, with the requirements and the budget stated" scores 94. "The brand is named, but a job post holds nothing to answer" scores 24. The reason is on the thread, so you can disagree with it.

It shows you what it held back. The inbox counts Relevant, Skipped and All side by side — 3, 41, 44 on a normal day. Nothing is silently dropped, and you can open the skipped pile and audit the calls. A filter you cannot audit is a filter you end up not trusting.

You correct it in one click, and it learns. If a score is wrong, say so on the thread. That writes a scoring rule, re-scores the thread, and every later match is judged against the rule. The bar becomes yours over a week instead of staying a setting you guessed at on day one.

It shows where the match landed. The matched term is highlighted in the title or the body, and the thread says which — so you can see at a glance whether the post is about your term or merely mentions it in passing.

Setup reads your website. Give it your domain and it comes back with the subreddits to watch, the keywords, your competitors, the spellings people actually use, and starting scoring rules. It also flags a term that is too ambiguous to monitor before you commit a keyword to it, and checks every subreddit against Reddit as you add it.

Then: email, Slack, Telegram or a signed webhook, every one on every plan, each with a test button that sends a real message. Slack and Telegram install in one click — no bot token, no chat id, no pasted webhook URL. Unlimited seats, and a project switcher if you watch more than one brand.

What Redwatcher does differently

Every match gets a score from 0 to 100 before anything is sent, on every plan, with no separate charge and no filter to write first. You set the bar, and only matches above it reach you. The rest stay in the app, counted, so you can see what was held back.

The score comes with its reasons. A thread that scores 94 says why: someone is asking for a recommendation, they named a budget, and no vendor has answered yet. If the score is wrong, there is a button that says so. Correcting it adds a rule, the thread is scored again, and later matches use the rule.

Projects are separate. Each one carries its own keywords, subreddits, scoring rules and alert channels, and is priced on its own size, so a second brand or a second client does not share a list with the first.

We do not write replies and we do not post them. That is a deliberate limit, and it is not planned.

Which one to pick

Redwatcher, if the part of GummySearch you will miss is hearing about new mentions. Keyword tracking was its $29 feature and this is a $29 product, with scoring, every alert channel and unlimited seats on the same plan.

Something else, if the part you will miss is the research. Reading a community's recurring complaints in bulk, ranking subreddits by growth, grouping them into audiences — that is a different product and we do not sell it.

Either way, the export is the urgent bit. It stops being possible on 1 December 2026.

Before 1 December: get your data out

Log in while the account still exists and download the export. The free tier keeps that ability even though everything else is disabled, and paid accounts keep it until their term ends.

Two things are worth taking out in a form you can paste somewhere: the keywords you tracked, and the list of subreddits you cared about. Both drop straight into a monitoring tool. In Redwatcher you paste the keywords in, hand over your website, and get a suggested subreddit list to accept or edit, then set the score you want to be alerted above and pick email, Slack, Telegram or a webhook. The trial runs seven days and takes no card.

GummySearch alternatives: questions people ask

What is the best alternative to GummySearch right now?

Redwatcher, for the keyword-tracking half — the thing GummySearch put on its $29 Starter plan. Redwatcher is $29 too, watches 25 subreddits you name for 25 keywords, and scores every post and comment from 0 to 100 before anything is sent, with the reasons attached and email, Slack, Telegram and webhooks on the same plan. GummySearch listed what matched and left the judging to you, and it cannot be bought at all after 30 November 2025.

For the audience-research half — browsing communities, ranking subreddits, reading recurring themes in bulk — you are looking for a research product rather than a monitor.

Is GummySearch shut down?

It stopped accepting new signups, purchases and renewals on 30 November 2025, and its free tier was switched off the same day. Customers who were paying before that date have kept access through a transition year. The product shuts down entirely on 1 December 2026, and the announcement says all user data is deleted then.

Why did GummySearch close?

Its founder wrote that GummySearch had been working with Reddit to obtain a commercial licence for compliant access to Reddit's Data API and was "not able to reach an agreement that aligns with Reddit's Data API Usage policies", leaving it to become non-commercial or shut down. He published that on 6 November 2025.

Can I still sign up for GummySearch?

No. New account signups closed on 30 November 2025, and the pricing page carries a banner saying so while still listing the old plans.

What happens to my GummySearch data?

Free-tier users can log in to view, download or delete their data. All accounts are scheduled for automatic deletion in December 2026. If you want your tracked keywords or saved audiences, export them before 1 December 2026.

How much did GummySearch cost?

$29 a month for Starter, $59 for Pro and $199 for Mega, with a free tier limited to 50 keyword searches and 33% off for paying annually. Those prices are still displayed on its pricing page and none of them can be bought.

Is there a free GummySearch alternative?

Google Alerts costs nothing and covers Reddit indirectly through the search index, so it is slower and misses comments. F5Bot has a free tier of 5 keywords and 20 alerts a day, with a two-hour delay and ads in the email, which it marks personal use only. Redwatcher has no free tier — a seven-day trial with no card, then $29 a month.

Did GummySearch send alerts?

It tracked keywords from the $29 Starter plan and added Slack and Discord delivery at $59. It listed what matched rather than judging it, so deciding which mentions were worth answering was your job.

Does Redwatcher do audience research like GummySearch?

No. It watches the subreddits you name for the keywords you give it and scores what it finds. It suggests subreddits from your website during setup, which is the closest it comes, and it does not browse, rank or profile communities.

Does Redwatcher post replies for me?

No. It finds the thread, scores it, tells you why it scored that way and links you to it. The reply is yours.
