Which subreddits, keywords and mentions does Reddit monitoring cover?

Redwatcher monitors new posts and comments in the subreddits you choose, matched against your keywords, your brand names, your competitors and the spellings people actually use for all three. Every competitor you track counts as one keyword against the project's allowance, which is the number of keywords and subreddits its plan holds. Each brand or client you monitor is a project, with its own keywords, subreddits, alerts and scoring rules, which are plain-language instructions saying what you want to hear about and what you do not.

Give it your website and it reads the site, then comes back with subreddits, keywords, competitors and the spellings people use for each. Every suggested subreddit is checked against Reddit as you accept it, so the list holds communities that exist and are still active. How often does Redwatcher check each subreddit?

Every tracked subreddit is checked around the clock, multiple times every hour, on every plan, and median freshness is about 15 minutes. A check is one read of a subreddit for new posts and comments. What changes between plans is how many keywords and how many subreddits a project can track.

How Redwatcher scores each match for relevance

Redwatcher scores every match from 0 to 100 for how closely the thread fits what your scoring rules say you want to hear about, with the reasons under the score, and sends you only the threads that reach the score you set. A thread where someone is choosing between two products in your category scores differently from one where your brand appears in a resale listing, and the reasons say how Redwatcher read each one.

The inbox, the app screen that lists a project's matches, keeps every match, sent or skipped, with its score and reasons, and shows how many came in and how many were not sent. Reddit alerts by email, Slack, Telegram or webhook

On every plan, Redwatcher sends alerts by email, Slack, Telegram or a signed webhook. A webhook is a request sent to a URL you give it. Slack, Telegram and the webhook get one message per thread, and email gets one message per check, carrying the threads from that check. Every channel has a test button that sends a real message, so you can confirm it works before the first real match arrives.

The webhook is signed: each request carries a signature, so your system can confirm that it came from Redwatcher. It carries the thread, the score and the reasons, so an automation tool such as Zapier or Make, or your own system, can act on the match without asking Redwatcher for anything else.

How do you know every subreddit is being checked?

The Stats screen shows every tracked subreddit, how much of it was read, and every check hour by hour. If a subreddit stops being covered, it shows on that screen the same day.

What Redwatcher does not do: replies, posting, other sites, data exports

Redwatcher does not write replies and does not post them. It finds the thread, scores it, explains the score and links you to it, and you write the reply. Redwatcher does not post because automated posting can get the account banned, and that account would be your brand's. Reddit monitoring without posting has Reddit's own rules on it.

Redwatcher covers Reddit only. Hacker News, X and the open web are outside its scope. It is not a scraper either: it does not give you a file of Reddit data to download, and apart from a look back at the seven days before you started, it reads only new threads. If you need a file of past Reddit data, you need a scraper. Does Redwatcher read Reddit comments as well as posts?

Both. Redwatcher matches every keyword in new posts and in new comments across the subreddits you choose, and scores both the same way before anything is sent. Every alert email says whether each match is a post or a comment, so you know which one to open.

How many subreddits can I monitor?

25 on the $29 plan, 50 on $49 and 100 on $89, per project. You pick each one, so Redwatcher reads only the communities you added. Setup suggests subreddits from your website, checks each against Reddit as you accept it, and you keep the ones that fit. More than 100 is a custom plan.

Does Redwatcher work for agencies with several clients?

Yes. Each client is a project with its own keywords, subreddits, rules and alerts, each on its own plan, and you switch between them in the sidebar. Does Redwatcher post replies for me?

No. Redwatcher finds the thread, scores it, explains the score and links you to it, and you write the reply yourself. Automated posting can get an account banned, and that account would be your brand's. Redwatcher never asks for a Reddit login, so nothing in it can post from your account.
