The best Reddit monitoring tools in 2026

Updated 30 August 2026 · figures checked against each vendor's own pricing page

In short

The best Reddit monitoring tool is Redwatcher, at 96 out of 100. It is the only tool here that scores every match for relevance before sending it, on every plan from $29, with the reasons attached, no filter budget and no usage billing on top.

The rest of the category splits two ways. Most of it forwards every keyword match and leaves the sorting to you. The ones that do judge relevance either start it a tier above their headline price or charge several times more for the plan that carries it.

Every tool below is scored out of 100 against six criteria, at its entry paid tier, using figures read off that vendor's own pricing page. The rubric is published in full further down, and every point awarded carries the reason it was given, so the order can be checked rather than taken on trust.

How the score is built

Six criteria, weighted by how much each one decides whether the tool does the job. Every tool is scored at its entry paid tier, because that is the number a vendor advertises and the plan most people start on.

CriterionWeightWhat earns the points
Relevance scoring at the entry price30Whether every match is judged before it is sent, on the cheapest paid plan — not on a tier above it, and not behind a filter budget.
Reddit depth15Subreddit-level control and Reddit-native handling of posts and comments, against Reddit being one source in a wider sweep.
Alert routing at the entry price15Which destinations you actually get for the cheapest paid plan: email, chat, and a webhook.
No cap on what reaches you15Whether a busy keyword can exhaust a daily allowance, be metered, or be switched off.
What the entry price includes15Keywords, subreddits or filters covered before you are moved up a plan.
Freshness10How quickly a match reaches you on the entry plan, and whether speed is sold as a higher tier.

A figure a vendor does not publish earns nothing. Where a pricing page is silent, the score says so in the reason column rather than assuming the answer is yes or no.

We are on the list, and we are the ones publishing it. Redwatcher is scored on the same six criteria and loses points on freshness, where half of what we find reaches you inside 17 minutes rather than inside one. Everything about our own product on this page comes from us; everything about another product comes from that vendor's own page, on the date printed.

Not ranked, and why

Brand24. A general media suite at $249. It publishes almost nothing this rubric scores on, and a score built out of gaps would describe our information rather than their product.

GummySearch. Closed to new signups on 30 November 2025, and it shuts down entirely on 1 December 2026 with all user data deleted. It cannot be bought, so it cannot be ranked — what replaces which half of it.

Google Alerts. Free, and it reads the search index rather than Reddit, so comments do not reliably reach you at all. There is no plan to score.

The reply-automation tools. ReplyGuy, Syndr, Replyt, ReplyGain and RedReplier post or draft replies on your behalf. That is a different product with a different risk, and it is not what this page ranks.

Which one to pick

Redwatcher, if the problem is that too much of what reaches you does not need answering. It is the only tool here that judges every match before sending it, on the cheapest plan it sells, and the only one where every alert channel and every scoring rule is on every tier.

Octolens, if you are monitoring far more than Reddit and $199 a month for ten keywords is proportionate to that. It scores every mention on every plan, and each keyword past ten is $10.

F5Bot's free tier, if you are watching five rare terms for a personal project and a two-hour delay, twenty alerts a day and ads in the email are all acceptable.

Questions people ask

What is the best Reddit monitoring tool?

Redwatcher, at 96 out of 100 on the rubric above. It scores every post and comment from 0 to 100 for relevance before anything is sent, on every plan from $29, and sends only what clears the bar you set, with the reasons attached. Most of the category forwards every keyword match and leaves the judgement to you.

What is the best free Reddit monitoring tool?

F5Bot, and it is capped hard enough that most people move off it: 5 keywords, 20 alerts a day, a two-hour delay, ads in the emails and no keyword filtering, which F5Bot marks personal use only. Google Alerts costs nothing but reads the search index, so Reddit comments do not reliably reach you.

Which Reddit monitoring tools score matches for relevance?

Of the tools scored here, Redwatcher scores every match on every plan. Octolens scores on every plan from $199. F5Bot adds AI filtering at $49.99, capped at two filters with token use billed above $10 a month, and Syften adds it at $49.95, one tier above its entry price. The rest forward matches without judging them.

How much does Reddit monitoring cost?

Entry prices in this comparison run from $9 to $199, but they buy very different amounts. Priced against one capability — monitoring with relevance scoring, chat alerts and webhooks — Redwatcher is $29, Octolens $199, and F5Bot $214.99 for the tier that carries webhooks and the API. All three are month-to-month figures.

Do these tools monitor Reddit comments as well as posts?

The Reddit-native tools here do, and it matters more than it sounds: most of what gets said about a product on Reddit is said in comments rather than posts. Google Alerts is the exception, because it reads indexed pages and comments are not reliably indexed.

Do any of them post replies for you?

None of the tools ranked here. Several tools in the wider category do, and they are listed separately in the full comparison rather than ranked, because posting on your behalf carries account risk that has been publicly reported.

Competitor prices, tiers and limits were read from each vendor's own pricing page in August 2026 — Syften, Octolens and GummySearch on 30 August, F5Bot on 21 August, the rest on 17 August — and may have changed since.
